Blossom Dearie, The Jazz Singer Who Sang The "Figure Eight" Song, Died This Past Weekend

This song always made me sad when I was a kid and to this day, when I look her up on ITunes, I envitably think of this first, before any of the other numbers I've heard her do over the years.

So sad! I loved her style. Little Jazz Bird, They Say It's Spring and I Wish you Love are all in my repertoire with a little influence from her. I remember the moment I made the connection between 60's/70's jazz artists and School House rock....Dave Frischberg, BD and co. A deciding moment in my direction as a singer!

You have great taste in influences! One of my favorite albums is her covers of songs by Comden And Greene.
