Earle Hagen Tribute #3- The Mod Squad

Jeez this thing frickin' moves... just listen to the bass line... one of the few times I don't despise "hip sixties organ" in a piece of music.

I was concerned for your health but can see you are thankfully better. Sorry the deaths of some talented people are the inspirations for your posts but they are tastefully done. Harvey Korman surely was a favorite of yours?

Yeah and I'm blown away by his death as much as any of the others I write about...

Not to put too fine a point on it, but this blog was set up to be more of an "observations about pop culture" thing and less of a "tribute to dead creative people I admire" thing.

But, a lot of people I like have passed away. The legacies they have left, whether in the worlds of film, television, the stage, music, comic books are ones that I feel are important. Hopefully what I post balances out the snarky posts I do and the "plug friends' and family members' creative efforts" posts I also do.

Most of these have been on my http://youknowtheface.blogspot.com/ blog because a lot of them are character actors.

But this week, for whatever reason, the people who have passed have been film director, a television theme composer and Harvey Korman.

This doesn't even encompass the equally noteworthy Dick ("Rowan and Martin's Laugh In" and major television director) Martin and Alexander (composer, the original "Star Trek" theme) Courage.

I'll post about something silly soon, I promise.
