Golden Globe Nominations 2008 III: Globey's New Nightmare

Laura Linney is sooooooooo happy Phillip Seymour Hoffman was nominated for "The Savages" and not her. Really. So very happy.1
Ellen Page contemplates her nomination for "Juno" and her resemblance to Linda Cardellini.2
"Just happy to be alive!" says Ernest Borgnine on receiving news of his Golden Globe nomination. He then proceeded to remove his clothes and act out the tender, last scene of his break-thru performance in "Marty".3
Another riveting, sad, melancholy, dramatic, well-costumed and production-designed scene from the nominated television show "Mad Men" that'll make you want to kill yourself.4

1 "The Savages" has one nomination. Phillip Seymour Hoffman- BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE – COMEDY OR MUSICAL . Since I worship this actor, I have nothing snarky to say.
2 Ellen Page is one of the three nominations "Juno" has received, hers for BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE – COMEDY OR MUSICAL. One wonders when the diminutive actress will transition from playing "troubled, cynical teen" to "hard-bitten, tiny prostitute" like her predecessor Jennifer Jason Leigh.
3Craggy Ernest Borgnine was nominated in the BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MINI-SERIES OR MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION category for "A Grandpa For Christmas". Because the titles "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Black Christmas" and "Silent Night, Deadly Night" were already taken.
4 "Mad Men" is nominated for both BEST TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA and for it's lead Jon Hamm under the BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A TELEVISION SERIES – DRAMA category. I watched initially for the period stuff, but stayed for the "so dramatic, you'll kill yourself" sturm unt drang of the show. Also, I know Stephanie Courtney.
